What a price for so poor options! You even cant switch the board !! This product is a kind of draft version. To avoid. A big disapointment for a chessbase product. Maj : toujours aussi nul. Une mise à jour annonce une version française... Inexistante... Et la page de paramètres ne saffiche plus. Une catastrophe cette appli!

The annotation in games... missing! Write you own games... missing! Search mechanism... trash! Open your own database... you cant! Completely useless! Dont by this piece of trash!!!

The search mechanism is no longer working. Now I can only access the news service. I really hoped having my money better honored

Simply it doesnt work.... Money waste.

Since a couple of days, the application does not work anymore. I see the title screen but not getting any further. No error message or other information is presented. Until fixed, this app is a no buy!

This is cheating, there are only 1000 games. I want my money back!

This app has no info page. It freezes when searching for a chess player. I have to reboot my itouch. It will be nice once they get the bugs fixed. Search button sometimes doesnt work.

It would be better if we could flip the board. We dont see the rate of the black player. I dont want to see games when the players rate are minus 2100

There are bugs galore in this app rendering it virtually useless. Cant move backward in Statistics mode. App often goes into perpetual search. No Info page. Great idea and looks great on the Chessbase website and on the iPhone, but dont waste your money until they fix it.

The app is definitely half-baked. Hopefully there will be an update soon.

A complete waste of money. Search button doesnt work and games dont get updated. Always freezes. Only works for about 10 minutes after u download it and then stops working forever. A terrible app!

finally got my moneys worth. A new opening book and endless chess databases. please add an autoplay feature.

This app is quite cool just minor fixes needed.

More convinced than ever that Chessbase considers their iOS apps not more than a hobby, and not a hobby they particularly enjoy or commit to. Perpetually crashing software is unacceptable -- absolutely abysmal. And this from a version that was previously working, your users cannot trust your upgrades! T-E-S-T-I-N-G.

Years ago I wrote to the staff at Chessbase and expressed my desire to play at their site and asked if their was any way I could do that on my Mac. Instead of a polite and businesslike reply, I received a curt and arrogant one liner informing me that they did not support Apple and had no intention of doing so in the future. Now that Apple is the largest and, arguably, most successful corporation in the world, the haughty crew at Chessbase has deemed it worthy of their attention apparently. Unfortunately they have done so in a half assed manner. This application is annoyingly opaque and crashes continually. Save your money and buy another database program or any one of the chessengines out there, which all have adequate databases.

Was a great buy for five bucks for three months while it worked. Now it doesnt work and wont connect at all, ever. Update needed.

given the functionality to look up games, this app is really targeted at tournament players, and therefore it seems like such a gross oversight to me that you cant actually add text comments into the games you enter. Also something that would be nice is to use the engine already built in to annotate games for a player, similar to chess programs on PC. App crashes often. Stats and total amount of games is impressive, and so too is how up to date they keep the games database.

I have just received the latest 2.3 update. I cant reach the Problem Solver. All I can get is the list of games, but cant see the whole game played. "Online gets the games, but I cant see them as played. Games gets me Files (blank). Opening book produces nothing. Settings produces nothing. HELP!

On 5S and the app does not correctly fit the screen. Also, if you get a certain number of moves into the game the opening book will freeze - so you can keep making moves on the board but you still see the options from X moves ago. There have been zero updates to the app since I bought it months ago. I bought this app with the idea that ChessBase is a reliable developer.... Im very disappointed in this app.

The idea of having a Chessbase app on my iPad was very exciting. The app is just terrible however. It is very buggy and the UI is wretchedly poor. Come on Chessbase please make this app worthy of the excellent software you make in the chess community!
